The Department of Children, Equality, Disability Integration and Youth and the Irish Red Cross has opened an online portal to allow members of the public to offer up accommodation to those fleeing the war in Ukraine following Russia’s invasion.
Anyone who has accommodation on Bere Island they would like to make available can contact Bere Island Projects Group if they require assistance in registering on the portal.
On arrival into Ireland refugees will be placed into emergency accommodation such as hotels or reception centres, and will then be placed with a family or in accommodation which has been pledged.
