Driving to Bere Island from Cork
Take the N22 westward, following the signposts for Killarney.
8 miles (13 km) after the end of the dual carriageway follow the left hand signpost for Bantry and Castletownbere (R585).
After 1 mile reach the village of Crookstown where you take a left turn (signpost for Bantry).
After 12.5 miles (20 km), take a right turn following the signpost to Glengarriff.
In Glengarriff take a left turn for Castletownbere (R572).
Murphy’s Ferry leaves The Pontoon, which is 18 miles from Glengarriff on left.
Bere Island Ferries is in Castletownbere on the left at the entrance to the town.
